Role Overview 

We are seeking an organised and detail-focused Street Works Administrator to join our team at our Harold Wood, Essex office. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting street works and reinstatement operations by managing permits, compliance, and administrative coordination in line with NRSWA and local authority requirements. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Apply for, manage, and close Street Works permits using relevant permit schemes (e.g. Street Manager / local authority systems).

  • Ensure all works comply with NRSWA, permit conditions, and local authority requirements.

  • Liaise with local councils, utility companies, site teams, and supervisors regarding permits, inspections, and notices. 

  • Monitor permit durations, overruns, and extensions, ensuring timely action to avoid penalties. 

  • Maintain accurate records of permits, notices, inspections, and reinstatement documentation. 

  • Support the scheduling and coordination of works with operational teams. 

  • Respond to defects, inspections, and non-compliance notices, escalating where required. 

  • Produce reports on permit performance, KPIs, and compliance. 

  • Provide general administrative support to the Street Works and Operations teams. 

Skills & Experience 

Essential: 

  • Previous experience in a Street Works / Highways / Utilities administration role. 

  • Strong working knowledge of NRSWA legislation and permit schemes. 

  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. 

  • Confident communicator, able to liaise with councils and internal teams. 

  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). 

Desirable: 

  • Experience using Street Manager or equivalent permit systems. 

  • Knowledge of reinstatement processes and inspections. 

  • Previous experience within civil engineering, utilities, or surfacing environments.
