Celebrating Matt Walsh: A Triumph of Endurance, Love, and Generosity
On Sunday, June 15th, 2025, the picturesque roads of Normandy echoed with footsteps and determination as runners from around the world took part in the Marathon de la Liberté. Among them was Matt Walsh, whose journey that day was about far more than just the 26.2 miles ahead of him.
Matt crossed the finish line in 4 hours and 43 minutes — a personal triumph, but more importantly, a deeply meaningful tribute. He ran the marathon in memory of his beloved nan, who sadly passed away earlier this year. Matt took on the challenge to raise money for Asthma + Lungs UK, a cause close to both his and his nan’s heart.
Through months of training and fundraising, Matt rallied friends, family, and supporters, ultimately raising over £2,000 for the charity. These funds will go directly toward helping people affected by asthma and lung conditions.
Matt's journey reminds us all of the extraordinary things that can happen when personal goals meet powerful causes. His run wasn’t just about endurance — it was about love, remembrance, and making a lasting difference.
From all of us at WM Walsh we want to say congratulations, Matt. Your nan would be incredibly proud.
